    I’m trying to load the res_snmp module for asterisk at startup, and have create a new module config file with the following configuration.

    modules__30-res_snmp.conf:

    [modules](+)
    load => res_snmp.so

    On start of asterisk, the module is not loaded.  I can load the module manually and it works as expected.

    I’m running VitalPBX 2.4.0-3

    What am I missing?

    First, you must install the SNMP package

    yum install  asterisk-snmp -y

    then, restart asterisk

    systemctl restart asterisk

    and, That’s it

    That is already done.  I can manually load the module and it works

    asterisk -rx ‘module show like snmp’
    Module Description Use Count Status Support Level
    0 modules loaded

    asterisk -rx ‘module show like snmp’
    Module Description Use Count Status Support Level
    res_snmp.so SNMP [Sub]Agent for Asterisk 0 Running extended
    1 modules loaded

    It’s the auto loading of the module using the config files in /etc/asterisk/ombutel directory that doesn’t appear to be working.

    Edit the file /etc/asterisk/ombutel/modules__20-noload.conf and remove the line:

    noload => res_snmp.so

    That worked, but does this file get overwritten by upgrades and such?  it does say in the file not to modify it 🙂

    @coryeakins

    Try to create a new file named in the following way:

    /etc/asterisk/ombutel/modules__30-autoload-snmp.conf

    with the following content:

    [modules](+)
    load => res_snmp.so

    Then, restart the asterisk service:

    systemctl restart asterisk
