dial tone start “immediately”

    Hello,

    i’m configuring a new instance of vitalpbx on a VPS.

    All seems to be ok, but i’ve notice that when start an external call, i hear the ring tone instantly, don’t hear the ring tone of the trunk.

    Is this normal?

    I also observed the same.
    The sip endpoint starting the call get  immediately a “180 ringing”, before the real ringing/progress feedback signaled from the trunk.
    I think also that this is a misleading behaviour.

    area51roby:  don’t hear the ring tone of the trunk.

    To be picky, unless you have a POTS line on a dahdi trunk, no real ring tone exists on any digital line…

    The ringing of the trunk would be enough, much more realistic!

    For removing the ringing tone generated by the PBX, first, you need to check what Dial Profile is using the trunk, then, you may go to this module (Settings >> Technology Settings >> Dial Profiles), here, you must edit the dialing profile assigned to the trunk, and disable the option “Ringing Tone”. After this, you must apply changes.
