Forward CID

    Hi there,

    Pretty new not just to VPBX, but PBX in general.

    I have a trunk provider lined up that offers transmission of any CID and would like to use this capability for auto-forwarding to mobile.

    I’d like a user to be able to select an option on their handset for out of office.  If this is enabled then the system would forward calls straight to mobile rather than the VPBX voicemail picking up the call.

    In this instance when the call is forwarded I’d like the external caller’s CID to be passed to the mobile, not our office CID.

    Is there a way to do this?

    As you may noticed, in the extensions module it is possible to assign three different caller id:

    • Internal CID: for internal calls
    • External CID: for outgoing calls, this may be overwritten by trunks configurations
    • Emergency CID: only used in emergency calls

    Yup, get that.  But I’m looking at dynamically passing the CID of the incoming call to the recipient the call is forwarded to, much like what happens on a blind transfer internally.
