For one business we use a competitor’s multi tenant platform and have several hundred customers without issue. We are trying to evaluate Vital to see if we are going to possibly replace it and also use it for a new business, but here are the issues I’m finding;
Provisioning – No security. Wide open for toll fraud. When I mentioned this to the rep, it was blown off. Sure we could use .htaccess, but if Vital doesnt take security seriously, thats a BIG issue
Multi tenant DIDs – No master DID list for assignment. It also appears tenants could ‘hijack’ a DID by creating their own incoming route.
Trunks still arent populating from Master to tenant even though they were assigned those trunks. Do you actually have to login as the tenant? Why wouldnt you inherit their permissions?
Search; Even when logged in as admin, it wont search tenants
When switching from tenant to tenant, or master to tenant, you have to re-open tabs. This is really a pain when trying to compare or troubleshoot issues between tenants
First of all thank you very much for considering VitalPBX as an alternative.
Regarding the EPM, we tell you that we are working hard on a new EPM that has all the security measures and features that are currently required. This new EPM will be available in the third quarter of 2020.
Regarding DIDs, these are added in the creation of the secondary Tenant, that is, each secondary Tenant may have its list of DIDs.
In this way, when an external call comes in and goes to one of these DIDs, the main Tenant is in charge of distributing it correctly, regardless of whether another Tenant has created the same DID.
Regarding the search and the other options, we tell you that we are constantly improving the Multi-Tenant options, however, it must be taken into account that in this case each Tenant is considered a complete PBX, it is not a single extension.
If you want to have multiple users and each with a single DID and extension, you can do it in the main Tenant and you give the user access only at the Portal level.
