I just built Vital PBX version 3, and updated to 3.0.9-5, on a test machine. I created a SIP extension 221, but cannot make the device register to it.

    The vitalpbx log shows:

    [2021-07-14 09:24:02] NOTICE[23604] res_pjsip/pjsip_distributor.c: Request ‘REGISTER’ from ‘”221″ <sip:221@192.168.8.73>’ failed for ‘192.168.8.40:5062’ (callid: 7a330525-88b2e833@192.168.8.40) – No matching endpoint found

    [2021-07-14 09:24:02] NOTICE[23604] res_pjsip/pjsip_distributor.c: Request ‘REGISTER’ from ‘”221″ <sip:221@192.168.8.73>’ failed for ‘192.168.8.40:5062’ (callid: 7a330525-88b2e833@192.168.8.40) – Failed to authenticate

Should I be seeing that res_pjsip/pjsip_distributor.c” in the log, when its a SIP extension that I am trying to register, not a PJSIP?

The password is set correctly on the extension and the device.

But if I create a PJSIP extension instead, that registers OK.

In the actual version if it is SIP the port is 5062. You have to include the port on the device to be registered and change it from 5060 to 5062

Thanks Diego, but I was definitely using port 5062 for the sip extension device, without success

OK, the problem was that my test device (an older SNOM phone) was not communicating correctlyon port 5062 even though I had set it to that port number.

However by using a more recent phone, things work just fine.

    Thanks for your support.
