    Hi Guys,

I seem to be having an issue with getting my outbound CID to display I check the “overwrite CID” option to yes and then enter my number but calls still appear as anonymous or unknown. Am I missing something? My trunks are registered through Vitelity and I have several other PBX systems with this function working and able to set custom even fictitious CIDs via the PBX. Any insight or help is appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Taylor

Please post or attach an asterisk call trace to analyze it and give you a solution.

So the log I have is fairly large is there a specific portion you would like to see?

Go to the Asterisk CLI, clean the console, make an outbound call, copy that info and post here.

Is there a command in asterisk cli I can do this with?

    0
    1. Go to Linux Console
    2. Go to Asterisk CLI: rasterisk -vvvvvvvvv (PRESS ENTER)
    3. Clear the screen: !clear (PRESS ENTER)
    4. Make the outbound call
    5. Finish the outbound call (Hangup)
    6. Copy the content of your console, paste in a txt file
    7. Attached in the forum

Same issue, everything works fine for incoming calls but outgoing calls show as private or anonymous on the called phone.

Screenshot contains the configuration of the SIP trunk and the log file below contains the information of an outgoing call. Trunk CID is set, Overwrite CID is enabled and SIP trunk provider should have enabled the parts on their side.

    Modified parts in log file:
    ***external_phone*** = Called Telephone Number
    ***Trunk_CID*** = Caller Telephone Number

Are you sure that your VoIP provider allows you to send any Caller ID info?

Did you already ask your provider if there is any setting you must to enable/disable to send the right CID?

Yes, they said they are allowing it. The attached file contains the configuration on their side.

They don’t have a lot of experience when it comes to VitalPBX so they haven’t been able to tell me which specific settings I need to configure.
