I’m looking for a feature code that can be found in another very popular Asterisk Phone System front-end. It transfers a call directly to voicemail.
The feature code is by default set to ** I believe, but we’ve always changed it for our customers to *86. This feature code does a transfer direct to a voice mail box instead of ringing the extension of that person first.
a receptionist answers the phone, hears call center chatter in the background, followed by a heavily accented voice asking for the CFO of the company and mispronouncing his name. This is obviously a cold call or a call that the CFO does not want to take, so the receptionist presses the transfer button on her phone (on Grandstreams this looks like [phone] -> [phone]) and INSTEAD of just dialing his extension and pressing the transfer button again (a cold transfer), she types in *86[Extension] and then hits transfer. Asterisk for it’s part sees this as a directed transfer and the caller is then dumped into the CFO’s voicemail box.
This is a very popular feature. Is there something similar to this in VitalPBX? If so, what is it called in the Feature Codes section?
