Unable to make custom firewall changes

VitalPBX Community Support General Discussion Unable to make custom firewall changes

    Hello,

We are working on an application that requires remote access to MariaDB (asterisk DB). Upon review that the VitalPBX GUI does not appear to allow you to specify a custom TCP or UDP port and application, I created the rule manually using firewalld and verified by issuing the command: cat /etc/firewalld/zones/public.xml

However. As a test, upon reloading the firewall in the GUI, all of my changes are overwritten. How do we make our own changes persistent to accommodate special application situations?

    Thank you

You can define custom rules on the firewall module to allow ports for specific IP

Just to clarify, I will need to not select the drop down that says Service and just leave that blank?

I just verified that there is no option to define a custom service or in anyway effect the built in VitalPBX FW application.

    • First, you have to create the service
    • Then, you have to add the service to the rules
    • and finally save the settings

    Done and done!

    Thank you!
