    Hello,

We have some troubles with the fax add-on by one of our customers. We are based on VitalPBX 2.3.8-3 and fax add-on 1.0.3-2. (I updated it to see if it solves the problem, but without success).

The fax are well received by hylafax :

But nothing appears on the Fax Viewer (and nobody receives an email).

I can see the tif file in /var/spool/hylafax/recvq and it seems to be ok !

So I think there is something strange between there and VitalPBX.

    Any idea ?

    BR

According to the provided info the Fax are arriving to the PBX without problems, the PDF are being generated on the recvd folder.

However, I would like to know the output of the following command to verify is all is being stored on the DB:

    mysql -uroot ombutel -e”select * from ombu_faxes_log”

I’ve made a test to determine if there’s something wrong with the add-on, but the fax arrives to my email and I am able to view it on the fax viewer module, so, I cannot know what is the proble with your customer.

Is there a way to check logs somewhere between the PDF creation and the database insertion ?

Is there a way to completly remove the plugin and reinstall it ?

Same problem here. Updated to 2.8.3, all updates run, and the inbound fax appears in /var/spool/hylafax/recdq, but doesn’t appear in the Fax Viewer, nor does it get sent out via email. In my case, I am about to lose this client (a law firm that receives faxes) for just this one issue.

    mysql -uroot ombutel -e”select * from ombu_faxes_log”

(image attached: note that the test faxes I sent to this server today do not show up, but the TIF dfiles are in /var/spool/hylafax/recdq)

    @kbohannon

Do you have a license for the add-on?

    0

    @steve-jacot-guillarmod

Sometimes when some script execution fails, it sends the information to /var/spool/mail/root, so, you can check if there’s some kind of error.

For reinstalling the virtual faxes add-on you can execute the following command:

    yum reinstall vitalpbx-virtual-faxes

Or for uninstalling and installing again:

    yum remove vitalpbx-virtual-faxes
    yum install vitalpbx-virtual-faxes
    0

You may check also if the following services are running:

    systemctl status hylafax-faxq.service
    systemctl status hylafax-hfaxd.service
    systemctl status iaxmodem.service
#Check if the modemd is running:
    systemctl status faxgetty@MODEM.service
    #e.g.:
    systemctl status faxgetty@ttyIAX1.service

Remember, after a full update (yum update -y), you must restart the server, because the kernel changes on the update, and some applications are tied to the kernel.

All services seem to be up and running. I will restart the server tonight. No license, just the one virtual fax.

The uninstall, followed by a reinstall via the GUI, did the trick. It’s working normally now.

    Hello,

I reinstalled the Fax addon, rebooted the server… the new faxes arrives as PDF in /var/lib/ombutel/fax/recvd/ but still not in the database.

    Very strange !!
