Can someone assist using maybe Class of Service or some other feature to make a group of phones only ring for internal extensions but not ring for outside calls?

The use case would be classroom phones would need to ring for the front office but you wouldn’t want a parent to interupt class with a call. That call would need to be sent direct to Voicemail.

    Thanks!

What you can do is just to avoid pointing any DID to that group of phones.

People would still be able to transfer via any of the IVR’s by dialing by extension or Dial by Name directory.

Also teachers need DID’s for direct calling.

You can use the DND feature during the classes, so, nobody will be able to call them, and calls will be routed to voicemail automatically.

Except the front office needs to be able to ring the Classroom phone.

That is not possible yet. You can set the extension in DND for no receiving calls, but, you cannot skip the DND from some extensions.

I agree that DND is not the correct way to find a solution.

Sorry, but this is not possible in any way on VitalPBX

I don’t know about Class of Service, but this could be accomplished using Night Mode.  You can set all incoming DID’s to going through the Night Mode.  The local callers would be able to contact the class via the extension numbers, but outside callers would go to VM.

    TechnoPaul,

Thanks for your contribution, that’s a good workaround.
