    I am confused reading Ward’s write-up. In section 12b he says to add the FQDN of the server.

    Is this the server hosting the VPS?

    And in 12c. is the IP address that which corresponds to the FQDN?

    And for the Local Networks section, I do not know what to enter here. In a terminal open on this external IP address (the VPS), when I type ip a, I see 1.2.3.4/24 for device ens3. That is the WAN address. Is that the only IP I have?

    That means that you must hava a valid FQDN pointing to your VPS IP, e.g:

    my-awesome-domain.com pointing to MY_VPS_IP

    my-awesome-domain.com => 10.0.0.1

    Thanks Jose.

    What about the local address?

    If you are using VPS services like vultr you will have two IP address the public one and the private, however, you don’t have nothing to do with the private IP, what you have to do is configure or point your domain to your VPS public IP

    I am using CrownCloud. When I do a ‘ip a’ from a terminal, it responds with the same address as the WAN. So I use this same address for the local address?

    I’ve never used that VPS provider, so, I cannot tell you if use it or not as local address.
